The HR Specialist is primarily responsible for managing the job requisition approval process and providing support to all campus departments in the eRecruit system (from job requisition inception through hiring).

Please contact Joan regarding:

  • Approving job requisitions for posting
  • Accepting requisition approvals on behalf of the Authorizer
  • Accepting Job Offer requests on behalf of the Authorizer
  • Updating changes to requisitions that are in the process of being approved
  • Cancelling dated requisitions and expediting their replacements when required
  • Matters pertaining to the job requisition approval process
  • Troubleshooting problems with eRecruit
  • Procedural and navigational support for eRecruit
  • Closing requisitions

Specific examples of questions include:

  • When will my job requisition be viewable to applicants?
  • My department wants to hire for a limited position; are we required to post through eRecruit?
  • The department is not happy with the current applicant pool; can we make changes to the job requisition?
  • What do I need to do to expedite a replacement job requisition?
  • Will you update the language/text in the job requisition?
  • I’m having problems “Selecting an Applicant for Interview,” can you help me?
  • I am having a problem with eRecruit: can you help me?
  • Can you close my requisition to new applicants?  Can you re-open my closed requisition?
  • Where do I click to see my applicants/interviewees/offers?
  • How do I close old requisitions in the eRecruit system?

The senior recruiters serve as the designated recruiters for all requisitions in eRecruit, and you will therefore select one of them as your recruiter when submitting requisitions.  To find out which recruiter works with your control unit, see the recruiter assignments page.

Jesusita, Maty, and Kelly work on strategic recruiting initiatives for campus.  Currently efforts are being focused on Development and Information Technology.  Kim is on leave as of May 31, 2008.

Jesusita is also the point person for Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.

Maty serves as the sourcing resource for HR and Employment Services and she provides sourcing and research support across multiple job families/departments. Most recently, Maty re-established cooperation between Employment Services and the Cal Alumni Association in efforts to promote campus job opportunities among the association’s 100,000+ members.
