2011-2012 Merit Program: Amended Implementation Guidelines

The implementation guidelines for the 2011 staff merit program have been amended.

The following changes have been made:

Section B: 

Further clarification of the definition of “eligible population” as it applies to the top 20% of the eligible population who may be awarded increases higher than 3% (to clarify this does not mean only 20% of top performers).

 

Section C3: 

There were 49 staff on campus who received a salary adjustment of less than 3% since January 2011, rendering them ineligible for merit increases under the original guidelines.  The Chancellor has granted a blanket authorization for these 49 to be included in the eligible population, to top off their previous increases to 3%.  If positions are on central funds, the incremental increase would be centrally funded up to 3%; any additional increases will be self-funded by the unit and will require exception approval.

 

Section G: 

A standard template for requesting exceptions has been developed, and is attached as an Appendix. Please note that there will be no additional funding for exceptions.
