Merit Roster Processing: Column Heading Explanations

Below are explanations for each column heading in the merit rosters for RX and TX.

Checked

This is a way to mark which employees you have analyzed for the salary adjustment process. It does not mean that the salary adjustment will be applied immediately.

Rating (only applicable for career appointments)

The default rating is Satisfactory. Please select the appropriate rating for all employees. Employees with a rating of Satisfactory will be eligible for a step increase. Employees with an Unsatisfactory rating will not have an increase calculated or processed.

Employee's current annualized compensation rate prior to the salary adjustment.

Last Hire Date

New STP

Employee's new step as of January 1, 2013.

Ineligible Reason Code and Ineligible Reason

Ineligibility reason. If blank, the employee is eligible for a merit increase through this automated process. If the field has a value, the employee cannot receive a merit using this automated process. Reasons are:

  • NREG – The job does not have earnings distributions. If the job should have earnings distribution lines, these distributions must be entered before the employee can receive a step increase.
  • No Change Percent – Employee's compensation rate does not match the current step rate.
  • SAP7 - No Eligible job on 7/2/2012 - Employee was hired or rehired after 7/2/12 and is therefore ineligible for a step increase effective 1/1/13.
  • MAXS – Employee's current step rate is already at the maximum step rate for the title.
  • < SAT - A performance rating of "Unsatisfactory" was entered for employee and therefore no salary increase will be processed.

Salary Change

Monthly salary change amount after step increase.

New Comp Rate

Monthly compensation rate after the salary adjustment.

New Annual Rate

Annualized compensation rate after the salary adjustment.

Percent To Be Applied

Change percentage = salary change amount divided by the current compensation rate.
