Cal Advancement Data System (CADS)
CADS is the central campus database for the UC Berkeley advancement community. CADS houses information on alumni, donors, and friends of the University and offers data entry, inquiry, and reporting capabilities. CADS is managed by University Relations.
Access to CADS is granted only to UC Berkeley employees or affiliates who require the data to complete tasks related to fund-raising, alumni relations, or external relations.
To apply for access, follow the steps below.
NOTE: the first time you access a CADS page, you will need to authenticate with your CalNet ID and passphrase.
- Read the policy documents listed on the CADS Policies page and the CADS Terms of Agreement for Logon and Access.
- If you agree to the policies and terms, download the CADS Application for Access (Word).
- Complete the form. Remember to check the box indicating agreement with the terms.
- E-mail or share the completed form electronically with your unit access coordinator (UAC). Find your unit's UAC.
- Upon pre-approval by the unit access coordinator, the UAC will submit the form to Advancement Information Management via URSA for approval and processing.
- Take prerequisite training through Advancement Training. Visit the CADS Training page.
- Once you have completed both the application process and the training, you will be informed when your access has been activated.
