HRMS goes down at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2009. From April 10 - April 15, 2009, HRMS (including Administer Workforce and eRecruit) will be unavailable to everyone. On Thursday, April 16, HCM will re-open to all users. If the system is available before April 16, a message will be sent via the HRMS listserv and posted on the HR web site and Blu.

2. Will new Career Compass job titles be available on April 16?
No, the Career Compass conversion of non-represented job titles will occur over the weekend of April 25, 2009, and should not cause a user disruption to the system. New Career Compass job titles (effective dated 5/1/09) will be available in HCM on Monday, April 25, 2009.

3. What about permanently budgeted positions?
The BIBS Permanent Resource Tracking (PRT) and Permanent Budget Systems will be down on Tuesday, April 14 and Wednesday, April 15 and from Saturday, April 25 to Monday, May 4.

4. Where do I learn more about HCM Training?

5. Why is the name changing to Human Capital Management?
Beginning with version 9.0, Oracle changed the name of their PeopleSoft enterprise solution from Human Resources Management System (HRMS) to Human Capital Management (HCM). Since HCM is the term used in the external marketplace, we opted to be consistent with the vendor name.

7. Who should I contact if I have questions regarding a job posting?
Contact your Employment Services recruiter for all questions regarding job postings.

8. How will W-4 tax allowances be handled in HCM 9.0?
The page in HRMS 8.3 that departmental administrators currently use to input employee income tax withholding allowances will not be available in HCM 9.0. For most employees there is little impact from this change because they can make their withholding allowances themselves through UCOP’s online W-4. Detailed instructions for entering withholding allowances can be found at http://hrweb.berkeley.edu/hrms/W4_Instructions.pdf.

9. Where should I go for more information about the HCM upgrade?
