Human Resources Management System

Job FTE vs. Budgeted FTE

Job FTE

For a given Job row (record), Job FTE is the percent of time (hours) one works in that job. Job FTE is stated in terms of percent of 1.0 Full Time Equivalent (FTE.) Job FTE must equal the total Distribution % on regular pay distribution lines.

See HRMS Earnings Codes for Earnings Code definitions for regular pay.

Budgeted FTE

Budgeted FTE, located on the Earnings Distribution row(s) associated with a job, is the percentage of the job's FTE that is permanently budgeted in the PRT (Position Resource Tracking) system, and is identified by the use of a Budgeted Salary Account in the chartstring in the Job Earnings Distribution row. This field is populated with a value greater than zero only for budgeted jobs. The value of Budgeted FTE need not equal the Distribution % for a Job Earnings Distribution row: a position may be budgeted 100%, or 1.00 FTE, in a distribution from which only 50% or even 0% of an employee's salary is being paid.
