Release Date for Human Capital Management Version 9 (HRMS Upgrade)
Work has been underway for the last 15 months upgrading HRMS to Peoplesoft HCM version 9. This new release will improve efficiency, add new functionality, and position the campus to take advantage of other new features in the future such as online Performance Management. Key features for the rollout will be support for Career Compass, a more flexible and intuitive interface, a completely new and much better applicant & recruiting system, easier entry of new-hire data, better management of multiple campus affiliations, and a toolset of new technology to support future needs.
The upgrade of HRMS will be implemented over the weekend of April 11-12, 2009 and will require a few contiguous weekdays of system downtime. The specific weekdays affected and times that HRMS will be out of service will be announced later. We will work with you on planning for continuing business during the time that time.
The project was delayed last summer when there was turnover in two key positions, the project manager and a lead functional partner. New staff was brought on board, and the project plan and scope were then revised in less than two months. Launch dates were chosen to synchronize with Career Compass job mapping and fit a time period that would be least disruptive to the largest number of users.
In January we will provide detailed information about features, differences, and the release timeline. Training will start in March.
