HCM (HRMS) 9.0 Training Forums (Revised 4/13/09)

WORKFORCE ADMINISTRATION:

Training Forums for Workforce Administration in HCM, the upgraded version of HRMS, have been scheduled and are available for enrollment in LMS.

To register for a forum on Workforce Administration (formerly Administer Workforce in HRMS 8.3), log into Blu (https://blu.berkeley.edu/) and select “UCB Learning Center” from the “Self Service” menu on the left.  In the UC Learning Center, enter code “BEESS615” in catalog search and register for one of the following currently-scheduled sessions:

  • Wednesday, April 15, 10 a.m. - 12 noon (20 Barrows Hall)
  • Wednesday, April 22, 10 a.m. - 12 noon (20 Barrows Hall)
  • Monday, April 27, 10 a.m. - 12 noon (20 Barrows Hall)

Additional sessions will be available for enrollment as these forums fill up.

TALENT ACQUISITION MANAGER (RECRUITING):

Due to the hiring freeze, access to the Talent Acquisition Manager (TAM, formerly eRecruit in HRMS 8.3) module will be restricted after the upgrade.  This will allow us to concentrate available training and support resources on those departments most in need of them.

While all roles and permissions associated with Administer Workforce (8.3) will be converted to Workforce Administration (9.0), a different approach will be implemented for TAM.  To gain access to TAM, users will need to have recruitments in progress, or have been granted exceptional permission to post a recruitment.

Those users will need to submit proof of the exception to Employment Services (careers@berkeley.edu) and complete required training, to which they will be individually invited. This hands-on training will begin the week of April 13. This four-hour training will be supplemented by hands-on labs for work on individual requisitions; these labs will begin the week of April 20.

While we understand the desire on the part of the campus to learn the new recruiting module, we hope you will understand and support our efforts to target the departments most affected at roll-out.  We expect to begin broader campus training in late May.

Questions may be addressed to hrmshelp@berkeley.edu.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

In addition there will be hands-on lab sessions for users who need assistance entering individual transactions.  You may enroll in our ongoing drop-in labs (labeled "HCM/HR BAIRS Office Hours," code "BEESS410") for individual help; additional lab sessions will also be scheduled and announced.  Please note that hands-on assistance in HCM will not be available until the application is released to the campus, sometime during the week of April 13.  Drop-in assistance in the current system is available until it goes down on April 9.

Hands-on training classes for new users of HCM--both Workforce Administration and TAM--will resume in May.

Please contact HRMS User Support (hrmshelp@berkeley.edu or 3-4443) if you have questions.  For more information about the HCM upgrade, please visit http://hrweb.berkeley.edu/hrms/hrmsmain.htm.
