ARTICLE 22
LABOR MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

The parties to this Agreement agree to jointly establish a Labor-Management Committee for the CAMPUS and LABORATORY within 30 days following ratification of this agreement.

The purposes of this committee shall be to meet and confer on items of mutual concern, to establish harmonious relations between labor and management, and to avoid, when possible, grievances and unfair labor practice charges.

The Committee shall consist of eight members, as follows:
- One Co-Chairperson appointed by the Labor Relations Department
- One Co-Chairperson appointed by the Union
- Three members appointed by the UNIVERSITY'S Co-Chairperson; and
- Three members appointed by the UNION's Co-Chairperson
- Other
participants may be invited to attend meetings upon mutual
agreement of the co-chairs.
- Meetings
shall be held at least once a quarter, but not more than once
each calendar month. Meetings scheduled beyond the required quarterly
meeting shall be scheduled by the Co-Chairpersons by mutual consent.
- The
Co-Chairpersons shall determine the dates of the meetings and
the agendas by mutual agreement.
- Nothing
in this article shall be interpreted as a replacement of the collective
bargaining process or the formal grievance procedure.
- Initial
issues to be addressed are: (1) Sick Leave Incentives; and (2)
Expedited Arbitration Procedure.
