University of California, Berkeley

2011-12 Merit Program

UC recently announced that we will be implementing a three percent merit program for faculty and non-represented staff later this year. We are very pleased that after four years without a program for staff merit-based increases, we are finally able to recognize and reward the efforts of our staff.  The purpose of the pool is to apply funding to reward meritorious service.

Specific guidelines for the distribution of merit-based increases are forthcoming and will influence our decisions about how best to distribute these funds. We will communicate more information about the Berkeley program in the near future.

In the meantime, managers and supervisors are encouraged to continue completing the annual performance evaluations, as these will be important documentation for supporting merit increase recommendations.

We appreciate the contributions made by all staff to the University, the people of California, and the countless others we touch every day in our service to the public.
