Some information about the data you will see:
- Title
Code Names
Title names are displayed using the payroll name.
- Pay Program
and Title Unit Code
For non-exclusively represented titles, the Pay Program of Professional and Support Staff (PSS) is applicable and the Title Unit Code of '99 - No Unit' is shown.
For titles that are exclusively represented, the title unit code designation and unit name is reflected, for example 'SX Service'. Additional information on exclusively represented units may be found at http://hrweb.berkeley.edu/hrlabor.htm.
- Step Rates
For positions represented by a bargaining unit, (e.g. UPTE, AFSCME), there are two sets of rates displayed:'COV' for positions 'covered' by the bargaining unit;
'UNC' for positions not represented by the bargaining unit. 'UNC' rates are used for supervisory positions and confidential positions. You must know whether the position is 'COV' or 'UNC' before you can determine the correct rate.
For positions which are not represented by a bargaining unit, there is only one set of rates, shown as 'ALL'.
- FLSA
The report displays whether the title is 'exempt' or 'non-exempt'. Only non-exempt titles are eligible to receive premium overtime compensation under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
- Shift and
On-Call Rates
If applicable, the appropriate rates are shown.
- Grade
The grade will be reflected along with the minimum, midpoint, and maximum salary rate for the grade.
Additional salary information for specific groups of employee and salary grade ranges may be found on the Pay and Classification Compensation site: http://hrweb.berkeley.edu/hrpay.htm.
