Behavioral Anchors Matrix
UC Berkeley has recently developed a Behavioral Anchors Matrix (PDF) tool to improve the performance evaluation process.
The behavioral anchors are intended as guidelines for use in evaluating core competency ratings. They are targeted to someone in a role at a professional level 3. As guidelines, they are intended for managers to use at their discretion in evaluating demonstrated competency levels. If the behavioral anchors seem targeted too low or too high for any particular employee, the manager can adjust the rating.
