Updated Procedural Language for PPSM Policy 30: Salary

The Compensation Unit has updated the Berkeley campus procedures related to PPSM Policy 30, Salary. The changes are technical in nature and align the procedures with revised University policy and changes in campus delegations. The changes include:

  • elimination of references to steps, since all titles covered by PPSM (except Police Sergeant) no longer have step ranges
  • reference to delegations of salary setting for hiring, promotion, reclassification and equity increases to vice chancellors
  • reference to delegation of stipend approval to department head
  • change in terminology to “limited-term”
  • clarification of salary setting upon downward reclassification
