Voluntary Separation Option (VSO-2)
In consultation with the Office of the President, UC Berkeley is able to offer a second voluntary separation option (VSO-2) to non-represented, full-time or part-time, non-probationary PPSM career employees (including PSS and MSP) in appointments without end dates, and appointees in the Librarian series in appointments without end dates, who may be considering separation from the university. Career PPSM staff may apply for consideration for a voluntary separation with a severance allowance, as permitted under current policies. Participation by represented employees is subject to collective bargaining. See the information below for details.
