Next Steps: HCM Clean Up for Employees
The next step for departments to complete in the CalTime readiness process involves the Human Capital Management System (HCM). To prepare your department for CalTime, your HCM Administrator will need to:

Enter and maintain, in HCM, all active distributions on which an employee is paid.
CalTime has been designed to run daily updates to check that distributions reported on timesheets match active distributions in HCM/PPS. This matching process will look at all elements of the chartstrings and an error report will be generated when a match is not found. -
Verify that the employee supervisor listed in HCM is correct.
The employee supervisor in HCM will be set in CalTime as the timesheet approver. A report can be generated from HCM to verify reporting lines. Following CalTime implementation, supervisors will have the ability to delegate.
