SSC: Work-life

Work-life in a shared services center (SSC) environment has unique characteristics that differ from other administrative models.

Typically, work-life in a SSC will include:

  • Greater use of technology
    • Self-service
    • Document sharing
    • Tracking
  • Constant assessment focused on improving services
  • Metrics driven – client satisfaction, not production
  • Performance reports shared with clients

The success of a SSC will depend on constant customer feedback shared. Other factors to consider include managed competition between SSCs to lower cost, and the SSC’s role in succession planning.
