Benefits Information for Employees

All information regarding the health and retirement benefits available to UC Berkeley faculty and staff can be found in the Benefits section of HR Web. UC Office of the President (UCOP) maintains a systemwide HR and Benefits website, At Your Service. You'll find that some of the links on these web pages will take you to this site.

The most important thing to know about benefits is that some plans have a Period of Initial Eligibility (PIE), which is usually 31 days from your date of hire. You must enroll within that period of time. Most campus departments have a Department Benefits Counselor who can help you with enrollment. If your department does not have a DBC, please contact the HR Benefits Unit at 642-7053 or send an email to benefits@berkeley.edu if you need assistance.
