Berkeley-specific FAQs
The following question applies only to the Berkeley campus, and supercedes a similar question in the systemwide FAQs:
How do I determine if I'm in this group of employees?
UPTE does not need to advise the University as to the groups of employees that will be covered in its representation petition until the petition is actually filed. Therefore, at this time, the University does not have specific information about what group of employees UPTE will seek to represent.
The union has posted a list of potential titles at http://www.apsforupte.org/99titles.html. However, the listing does not include the title codes that are specifically used by Berkeley. This does not mean that Berkeley employees will be excluded from UPTE’s proposed representation petition when it is filed. Generally, the UPTE materials suggest that the union is seeking to represent all non-supervisory, non-managerial employees at the University who are not currently represented.
